Adam McAllister notched a hat trick as the Thousand Islands Privateers used four shorthanded goals to rout the New York Bluefins, 9-3, in a Federal Hockey League game Saturday at the Duffy Fairgrounds.

Brent Tamane tallied two goals and two assists for Thousand Islands (10-8-3-1). Nick Williams handed out three assists. Matt Anthony made 18 saves for the win.

Tim McLean scored a pair of goals for New York (3-12-1-1), which had their team taken over by the league earlier in the day. Angelo Asaro supplied a goal and an assist.

According to the league website, the Board of Governors assumed control of the club until new owners are found. The board moved the club from Eastern Massachusetts, where they were known as the Cape Cod Bluefins, to Syracuse. The club will fulfill all road game commitments and play select home games at neutral sites and at selected FHL cities.

The Privateers acquired former Cape Cod forward Jeff Dill. Other players that weren’t acquired by other teams became free agents at 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

Thousand Islands is next in action at 7:35 p.m. Thursday at the Williamsport Outlaws, then play a pair of games in Dayton against the league-leading Demonz this weekend.
