MARTINSBURG A Copenhagen woman is listed in fair condition in the intensive care unit of Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, after the Jeep she was driving was hit by a tractor-trailer Saturday morning as she attempted to reverse on Route 12 near Cannan Road.
State police and first responders were called to the scene about 11:45 a.m.
The driver of the Jeep, Joyce L. Moser, 78, of 3756 Wilson Road, Copenhagen, was taken by helicopter to the Syracuse hospital.
Two passengers in the Jeep, John L. Moser, 43, and Caroline M. Moser, 45, both of the same address, were taken to Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, where they were examined and released.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, John W. Newman, 62, Alton, Texas, also was taken to the Lowville hospital, where he was evaluated and released.
State police said Joyce Moser will receive a ticket for making an improper U-Turn.
