SYRACUSE Syracuse University senior quarterback Ryan Nassib was named to Pro Football Weeklys 2012 All-America Team.
The team annually recognizes college footballs most talented players, and is determined based on evaluation and feedback from NFL evaluators.
Nassib leads the Big East in total offense (312.3 yards per game) and passing yards (301.6 per game). He set SU single-season records for attempts (448), completions (283), passing yards (3,619), touchdowns (24) and total offense (3,748). He led the Orange to a 7-5 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the Big East to earn a share of the conference championship.
Nassib is one of two Big East players honored, as Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater received honorable mention.
Syracuse will play in the Pinstripe Bowl for the second time in three years, against West Virginia at 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 29 at Yankee Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN.
