The memorial service for Angela F. Oliver, a former resident of LeRay Street Apartments and Black River Road, will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of TLC Funeral Home, Inc. Internment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Oliver died at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Carthage on December 11, 2012. She was 83.
Angela was born on July 8, 1929 in Malden, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Mariano and Josephine Morello Tubolino. Angela graduated at the age of 16 from Adams Center High School. She later entered the WACs - Womens Army Corp. in Baltimore, Maryland She was honorably discharged in 1950 from Fort Dix, New Jersey. Angela returned home to help her father with the family farm and later worked for General Electric.
Angela was stricken with multiple sclerosis and spent a year at the Stears Chiropractic Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Angela never complained of her illness. She had a positive attitude and loved to sing, tell jokes and work outdoors. She was known to be the life of the party. On July 7, 1957, Angela married Luigi Oliverio (Louis Oliver) at St. Patricks Church. Mr. Oliver passed away on June 20, 1992.
Despite the odds of her muscular sclerosis, Angela gave birth to a daughter on March 30, 1959. She named her Louisa. Angela is survived by her daughter, Louisa Caldwell and her two grandchildren, Brianna and Patrick Caldwell and two great grandchildren, Joseph and Alena Alarcon all of Watertown. She is also survived by her step children, Tony Oliveri of Germany, Dominic and Jackie Oliver of Watertown, Mrs. Douglas (Josie) Scee of Theresa, NY. Angela is also survived by her three sisters, Maria Smith of Watertown, Geraldine Burrows of Clayton and Joanne and Donald Yott of Florida. She has a brother, Donald Tubolino and his companion, Mary Thompson of Florida, a sister in law Betty Tubolino of LaFargeville and a daughter in law Beverly Oliver of Florida and a son in law, Kevin Caldwell of Adams. Angela is also survived by several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Pre deceased are her beloved brother, Joseph, brother in laws, Joe Burrows and Alfred Smith, sister in law Joanie Tubolino and step son Frank Oliver.
