DEKALB — Three people were injured in a head-on crash Thursday afternoon on Route 11, state police said.

Evette Hornsby-Minor, 52, Spring Valley, Calif., was southbound near Welch Road shortly after 3 p.m. when she attempted to pass a tractor-trailer, troopers said. Ms. Hornsby-Minor failed to see a northbound vehicle driven by Kevin B. Besaw, 53, DeKalb Junction, and the vehicles collided, troopers said. Ms. Hornsby-Minor will be ticketed, they said.

Ms. Hornsby-Minor and two other people, Angela Todd, 39, and Ailis Todd, 14, were injured. It was not immediately clear which vehicle the Todds were in, nor where they were from. The extent of their injuries also was not available, but troopers said all parties were conscious following the crash.
