A public hearing has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 7 for properties that will fall under next years plan for sidewalk improvements in the city of Watertown.
Property owners can pay the city for the work, hire a contractor or do the work themselves. The program requires property owners to pay $5.25 per square foot over a 10-year period if the city completes the work.
The city has sent notices to property owners whose property is part of next years program. The public hearing will deal with whether all or a portion of the improvements cost should be charged to an abutting owner.
The public hearing will be in the third-floor council chambers in City Hall, 245 Washington St.
