Jefferson Community College is starting its two-year reaccreditation process.
During Wednesdays board of trustees meeting, a resolution to form the Middle States Steering Committee was approved.
Middle States Commission on Higher Education is part of an association that accredits colleges and universities in the East.
Chemistry professor John Penrose and Dean for Curriculum and Instruction Jeri Fairman were appointed as co-chairs.
According to a timeline the college provided, a self-study will be planned next spring and will be completed as late as spring 2015. The college will then prepare to have an evaluation team visit the campus between fall 2014 and summer 2015.
