MASSENA - Massena – Michael Gleason, executive director of the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce, has announced the 2012 Massena Holiday Ornament is now available at the chamber office.

This year’s design for the holiday ornament was chosen to honor the former Adath Israel Synagogue. In July of this year, the Adath Israel Congregation generously donated their building to the Massena Chamber. “It is just a small token of our appreciation to the congregation that we have chosen the synagogue as this year’s holiday ornament design,” he said.

The synagogue building dates back to 1844, when it was built as the Emmanuel Congregational Church of Christ. The Adath Israel Congregation purchased the building in 1920 from the Emmanuel Congregation after they moved to their new church.

This year’s ornament can be purchased for $8 (includes tax) and is available at the Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce Office, 6 Church Street from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

If you are interested in shippingan ornament to a loved one, the chamber also has shipping boxes available for purchase. These holiday ornaments are also available for purchase at Phil & Jackies located in downtown Massena at 69 Main St.
