PHILADELPHIA — Indian River’s Katie Brierton will sign a letter of intent today to play NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse at the University at Albany.

Brierton, who led the Frontier League in scoring with 79 points last season, is scheduled to sign in a ceremony at 3 p.m. at Indian River high school.

Brierton finished with 55 goals and 24 assists. She is the first Indian River girls or boys lacrosse player to commit to play Division I lacrosse.
