BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Massena-based state police picked up Joseph D. Mitchell, 17, of 237 County Route 43, Lot 18, Massena, on a bench warrant for an alleged violation of his release under the supervision of the probation department on fourth-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration charges. He reportedly violated the conditions of his release by failing to complete recommended treatment, failing in an attempt to falsify a drug test and tested positive for drug use on multiple occasions. He was arraigned on the warrant Tuesday afternoon by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facilty with bail set at $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
