The parents of Meredith Ann Hurley and Charles Edward Burt, both of Gouverneur, announce the couple’s engagement.

Miss Hurley, daughter of Brian and Dianne Hurley, Edwards, graduated in 2006 from Edwards-Knox Central School, Russell, in 2009 from SUNY Potsdam, with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, literature and writing, and in May from SUNY Potsdam, with a master’s degree in English and communications. She is a high school English teacher at Indian River Central School, Philadelphia.

Mr. Burt, son of Peter and Martha Burt, DeKalb, graduated in 2005 from Hermon-DeKalb Central School, DeKalb Junction, and in 2009 from SUNY Potsdam, with a bachelor’s degree in childhood education. He is a third-grade teacher at Hermon-DeKalb Central School.

A July 27 wedding is planned.
