Two people were inured Thursday afternoon in a motor vehicle accident on State Street.

Watertown police said Amber E. Yancey, 41, of 3798 Yancey Road, Lowville, had stopped her vehicle about 3:25 p.m. near Moore Avenue to wait for a vehicle in front of hers to turn, when her vehicle was struck from behind by one operated by Jessica R. Mayo, 22, of 103 Hunters Run, Dexter.

Miss Mayo, who was ticketed with following too closely, told police she did not have enough time to stop.

Miss Mayo was taken to Samaritan Medical Center complaining of neck and back pain, while Ms. Yancey was taken to Samaritan for treatment of hand and wrist pain.
