POTSDAM — Village stores will kick off their efforts to lure in Christmas shoppers with the annual “Potsdam Super Holiday Weekend” organized by the Chamber of Commerce.

Stores downtown will have special events and promotions on Saturday and Sunday, and the chamber will hold a contest to win $100 or $50 gift certificates.

The weekend is the beginning of the holiday shopping season in Potsdam, and many stores will be expanding their hours to cater to customers looking for the perfect gift.
