Smith Farm of Massena is the latest vendor to join the Ogdensburg GreenMarket.
Owners Cathy and Ron Smith sell fresh whole roasting chickens and turkeys, half chickens, thighs and breasts. They also sell frozen chicken.
Their roasters contain no growth hormones or antibiotics.
The Smiths were featured in the NNY Business magazines October issue. They are building a U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified chicken slaughterhouse on their property to more easily process the over 1,000 birds they raise annually.
The GreenMarket is open Saturdays at the First Presbyterian Church, Ford and Franklin streets, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The winter market offers for sale several kinds of squash, turnips, onions, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, fresh spring salad mix, kale, apples, eggs, pork, sausage, maple products, pies, cookies, handcrafted holiday decorations and baskets.
Place your orders now for kissing balls, wreaths and table centerpieces made from fresh balsam, white pine and fir. For more information, call the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce at 393-3620.
