WATERTOWN- Mary A. Calhoun-Beaumont, of Carr Road passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and best friend and fiancé, Gary D. Fitzgerald.
Born in Watertown, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest G. and the late Shirley L. Freeman Calhoun.
Mary was a stylist for many years, owning her own business until becoming ill in 2007. She was also a licensed practical nurse, doing private duty and an Avon Representative for many years.
She was a member of the Braden-Jones VFW Post 1400, Watertown and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 61.
She was married to Lloyd E. (Pete) Beaumont. Although the marriage ended, they remained good friends.
Mary enjoyed being around her family and friends and making people smile. She was a good listener, was always pleasant and everyone who knew her enjoyed her company as well. Her greatest compassion was the children and the elderly. She also enjoyed the North County area and all of its natural surroundings.
Among her hobbies was baking all occasion cakes for family and friends.
Survivors, including her fiancé, Gary, are four brothers and a sister-in-law, Ernest, Jr. and Patrick S., both of Watertown, William M, AZ and Arthur and Wanda of LaFargeville; Six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Linda and Richard Morris, Rebecca and Timothy Towsley, Shirley and Jack Weston, Colleen Calhoun and her companion, Edward Sanford, Cathleen and Patrick OBryan, all of Watertown and Eileen Calhoun of Lowville, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A brother, Michael K. Calhoun died before her.
A private graveside service will be at North Watertown Cemetery.
