Coleman named top Liberty performer

Clarkson University sophomore John Coleman was chosen as the Liberty League men’s basketball Performer of the Week for his two-game stint this past weekend.

The Potsdam High School product produced a pair of double-doubles for the Golden Knights as they won the North Country Invitational. Against Berkeley on Friday, Coleman scored a team-best 24 points and added 12 rebounds, shooting 11-for-16 from the field, and then followed that up with 14 points (7-for-9 shooting) and 15 rebounds in a 65-63 victory over Ithaca College.

He averaged 19 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 72.0 percent (18-for-25) from the floor.

n Ella Scheueral scored 16 points to pace Skidmore to a 56-54 nonconference women’s basketball win over host SUNY Potsdam Monday at Maxcy Hall in Potsdam.

Logan Frederick added 14 points for Skidmore (1-2). Potsdam (0-3) was led by Jessica Kouzan with 14 points and Bailey Weigel with 13.
