STORRS, Conn. Bailey Habscheid scored her first goal of the season to help the St. Lawrence University womens hockey team salvage a 2-2 tie with Connecticut in a nonconference game on Sunday afternoon.
Habscheid, a junior, put home a rebound of a shot from Ellie Williams past Connecticut goalie Elaine Chuli with just under nine minutes left in regulation. SLUs Kelly Sabatine grabbed a goal seven seconds into the third period. Carmen MacDonald made 26 saves for the Saints (7-6-1). UConn is now 2-10-2.
Chuli turned aside 41 shots for the Huskies (2-10-2). Emily Snodgrass led the offense with a goal and an assist.
■ Freshman forward Karley Cree scored the only goal for SUNY Canton as it fell to the University of Buffalo club team, 4-1, in Amherst on Sunday.
