Lovenia E. Clark, 100, formerly of Clayton, died Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Crest Manor Living & Rehabilitation Center, Fairport.

Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Clayton on Tuesday, November 20, from noon - 2PM followed by the funeral service at the funeral home at 2PM with Rev. Arthur LaBaff, St. Mary’s Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, town of Cape Vincent.

Lovenia was born in Harrisville on April 12, 1912, daughter of Charles G. and Evelyn Turcotte Clark, and attended schools in Harrisville and Clayton. She had worked at the Clayton Bathing Suit Factory and ran a boarding house out of her home on Franklin St for many years. During WWII she was a volunteer look-out for enemy planes. She had also been a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Clayton.

She is survived by several cousins, especially Julie Cole, Clayton and three siblings who were like children to her, Jack LaLonde and Vaida Palmeri, both of Rochester, and Gary LaLonde, Clayton. Her two half-brothers, Hiram and Ivan Clark, and her half-sister, Mildred Weeks, died before her.
