A city resident was charged after he allegedly threatened a woman who lived with him that he would use a handgun against her.

Police said Ralph F. Hamlin Jr., 34, of 352 Winslow St., threatened Anne E. Ellsworth during a domestic dispute.

Arrested at 11:19 p.m. Saturday at his residence, Mr. Hamlin was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment in City Court. Police said Ms. Ellsworth requested an order of protection against him.
