■ OGDENSBURG St. Vincent de Paul thrift store and food pantry, 1115 Ford St., will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and will reopen Saturday.
■ RUTLAND Town officials on Nov. 8 passed a $1,516,407 budget for 2013 that includes $338,145 to be raised in taxes. The proposed tax rate will remain the same at $3.01 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
■ LOWVILLE A joint request from the towns of Lowville and Watson for a $50,000 state shared-services grant to study a combined water project was not funded, Lowville Supervisor Randall A. Schell reported at a meeting Thursday.
■ HEUVELTON The Fresh Start Fellowship Church youth group is collecting new blankets for New York City victims of Superstorm Sandy. Blankets can be dropped off through Dec. 12 at the Canton Price Chopper and Hair Express, Ogdensburg.
