Penny Summers and George and Marcia Cox, all of Colton, announce the engagement of their daughter and stepdaughter, Amanda Lynn Cox, Oneida, to Christopher George Nicholas, Oneida.

Miss Cox graduated in 2003 from Colton-Pierrepont Central School, Colton, in 2005 from SUNY Cobleskill, with an associate degree, and in 2007 from SUNY Plattsburgh, with a bachelor’s degree in business. She is employed by the Madison County Industrial Development Agency, Canastota.

Mr. Nicholas, son of George and Veronica Nicholas, Johns-town, graduated in 2000 from Johnstown Senior High School and in 2007 from SUNY Plattsburgh, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. He is employed by National Grid, Syracuse.

An Aug. 17 wedding is planned.
