A state trooper pulled over a vehicle he saw pulling off private property Tuesday night and smelled burnt marijuana, according to state police.

After Alex M. Tibbles, 19, Evans Mills, allegedly admitted he had just smoked marijuana, police said he was found possessing about 26 grams of the substance.

Mr. Tibbles was arrested on Joachim Road in the town of LeRay at 10:35 p.m. on charges of driving while under the influence of drugs, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, trespassing, having an improper bumper and having an insecure license plate. He was released with orders to appear in court at a later date.
