A Watertown man was arrested Sunday night after city police alleged he stole his friends jewelry worth about $1,500 and sold the items at a gold exchange kiosk in Salmon Run Mall.
Lamar A. Perkins, 24, of 309 Mill St., Apt. 208, was detained to await arraignment in City Court on a felony charge of fourth-degree grand larceny. He awaits possible grand jury action.
Police said a gold necklace and a pair of earrings belonging to Chassidy J. Macon, Watertown, were stolen early on Nov. 3 from a room at Holiday Inn Express, 1290 Arsenal St. Mr. Perkins had visited her in the room, police said.
Undisclosed is how much the items were sold for at Immediate Cash for Gold.
