CLAYTON — Heather Bates finished off a pass from Jenna Rogers in the 45th minute for the game-winning goal as South Lewis edged Thousand Islands, 1-0 in a “C” Division girls soccer game in the Frontier League on Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Miranda Rys made 14 saves, including five in the second half, as the Falcons (7-5, 6-5) handed the Vikings (8-1-2, 7-1-2) their first loss of the season.

Aliceson Cornaire finished with three saves for Thousand Islands.

LOWVILLE 2, BEAVER RIVER 0

McKenzie Marti scored a goal in each half as the Red Raiders blanked the Beavers in a “C” Division game in Lowville.

Goalie Alexa Yousey only had to make two saves to notch the shutout for Lowville (6-3-1), which has won five consecutive games.

Gen Fidler finished with nine saves for Beaver River (4-5-2, 3-5-2).

SOUTH JEFFERSON 1, CARTHAGE 0

Freshman Lara Podvin scored in the 67th minute off an assist from Mikaela Rutter to break a scoreless tie and send the Spartans to a crossover victory at Carthage.

Jackie Decker stopped 10 shots to register her fifth shutout of the season for South Jefferson (8-3, 7-3), which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Haley Ryan made seven saves for Carthage (5-4-1, 5-3-1).

WATERTOWN 3, IHC 2

Brianne Arthur’s winning goal early in the second half lifted the Cyclones to an “A” Division victory at Immaculate Heart Central.

Arthur launched a direct kick into the upper right corner of the goal from about 30 yards out to score the game-winner.

Livia Harrienger and Courtney Netto also scored, and Morgan Cadwell supplied an assist.

Goalie Katie Aldrich turned away seven shots for Watertown (7-3-1, 6-2-1).

Katie Beagle and Jaid Baytos scored, and Olivia Miles recorded an assist for IHC (7-5, 6-4).

INDIAN RIVER 2, A-P-W 0

Kelsi Nabywaniec and Katie Brierton tallied a goal each as the Warriors blanked the Rebels in a crossover game in Parish.

Lakeisha Barnes made five saves to post the shutout for Indian River (8-4, 7-3).

Erin Stever was credited with 25 saves for A-P-W (1-8, 1-10).

SANDY CREEK 6, GENERAL BROWN 0

Hannah Horth and Toni Gray each contributed two goals and an assist as the Comets recorded a crossover victory in Sandy Creek.

Kate Hanni also scored two goals for Sandy Creek (6-2-2, 8-2-2) and Chelsea Claflin chipped in with two assists.

McKenna Guarasce (four saves) and Viki White (one save) shared duties in net for the Comets.

Morgan O’Hearn (five saves) and Torri Disario (18 saves) each played in goal for the Lions (0-9, 0-12).

COPENHAGEN 4, LAFARGEVILLE 1

Maci Spaulding and Claire Stackel each contributed two goals and an assist to pace the Golden Knights past the Red Knights in a “D” Division game in Copenhagen.

Goalie Lindsey Fitzpatrick made five saves to notch the win for Copenhagen (8-2-1).

Destiny James made 13 saves for LaFargeville (2-9).

SACKETS HARBOR 7, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0

Diana Dotson delivered two goals and an assist to power the Patriots past the Panthers (0-10) in a “D” Division game at Sackets Harbor.

Nicole Menapace added a goal and an assist for Sackets Harbor (8-3), which will host Copenhagen in a pivotal divisional matchup on Friday at 4:30 p.m..
