PARISH — Chelsea Clafin scored a pair of unassisted goals in the second half, including her second tally that proved to be the game-winner, as Sandy Creek edged Altmar-Parish-Williamstown, 3-2 on Friday in a crossover game to remain unbeaten in the Frontier League.

Olivia Ivison also scored for the Comets (3-0-1), who occupy first place in the “C” Division.

Goalkeeper McKenna Guarasce made 14 saves to earn the win for Sandy Creek.

Rachael Thormann and Emilie Mullin each scored for the Rebels (0-5) and Erin Stever finished with 24 saves.

MASSENA 1, CANTON 0

Shannon Casey converted on an assist from Erin Francis in the 27th minute to give the Red Raiders (4-0, 2-0) a win over Canton in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game in Massena.

Courtney Manley made five saves to shut out the Golden Bears (0-2, 0-1).

OFA 1, MALONE 1

Shannon Tooley scored off a give-and-go from Nikki Duprey in the ninth minute of the second half to give the Blue Devils (0-1-3, 0-1-1) a brief lead in a Central Division game against Malone in Ogdensburg.

The Huskies (0-1-1) answered with 20 minutes to play on Maggie Alburm’s goal.

The game was ended by the officials because of lightning with 15 minutes, 54 seconds remaining.

LISBON 1, EDWARDS-KNOX 0

In a game shortened by weather in the second half, Maddie Vine scored in the 52nd minute of play from Beth Crowley to give Lisbon a win over the Cougars (0-2) in a West Division game in Russell.

Jackie Sovie made two saves for Lisbon (3-0-1, 3-0).

HAMMOND 7, CLIFTON-FINE 0

Alyssa Crosby scored 30 seconds into the game and Courtney Bova tallied three goals as the Red Devils crushed Clifton-Fine (0-2) in a West Division game in Hammond.

Crosby added another goal and Taylor Bowman and Lauren Workman also scored for the Red Devils (2-1, 2-0) and Cassie Whalen made five saves for the shutout.

HERMON-DEKALB 4, MORRISTOWN 0

Morgan Scott scored two goals in the first half and Kasey O’Donnell added two in the second as the Demons defeated Morristown (0-2) in a West Division game at DeKalb Junction that was shortened by weather.

Rhys Bryant collected five saves for the Demons (1-1).

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 4, HARRISVILLE 1

Emily Sloan scored one goal and assisted on two others as Parishville-Hopkinton (4-1) defeated the Pirates in the opening game of the Harrisville Tournament. The second game featuring Colton-Pierrepont against Gouverneur was cancelled due to weather.

Brianna Hayes, Kodi Perkins and Olivia Collins also scored for the Panthers.

Kathleen Coloney scored for Harrisville (1-2).

POTSDAM 1, NORTHWOOD PREP 0

Kaila Grant scored in the 15th minute of the first half to lead the Sandstoners (3-0-1) to a nonleague victory in Potsdam.

Breanna Sapp made nine saves for the shutout.

POSTPONEMENTS

Several girls soccer games in the Frontier League were postponed because of inclement weather including Alexandria at Copenhagen; Beaver River at South Jefferson; LaFargeville at Belleville Henderson; Sackets Harbor at Lyme; and South Lewis at Lowville.

The Alexandria-Copenhagen game will be made up on Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m.

BOYS SOCCER

IHC 6, EDWARDS-KNOX 1

Jason Reape registered a pair of goals to help the Cavaliers earn a first-round victory over the Cougars at the Harrisville Tournament.

Matt Guyette distributed three assists, and JP McClusky and Jake Fusilli each supplied one goal and one assist. Jude Fusilli and Chris Rowland also scored for Immaculate Heart Central (4-1).

Derek Clark scored on an assist from Jesse Bullock for Edwards-Knox (0-2).

IHC is scheduled to play Harrisville in the championship game at 1 p.m. today. Edwards-Knox and Clifton-Fine will match up in the consolation game.

Friday’s Harrisville versus Clifton-Fine game was canceled due to lightning.

MALONE 2, OFA 1

Dustin Hart scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute to lead the Huskies in a NAC Central Division game.

OFA (2-2 overall, 1-1 division) took a 1-0 lead in the 47th minute off a goal from Andrew Guimond, which came shortly after a corner kick.

The Huskies (3-1, 2-1) tied the game in the 67th minute on a goal from Aaron Sharlow.

Kody Mulverhill stole the ball while OFA was attempting to clear it, helping to set up the goal.

MASSENA 0, CANTON 0 (OT)

Neither team could score in regulation before lightning halted the Central Division game in Canton in overtime.

Scott White made nine saves for the Golden Bears (4-1-1, 2-0-1) and Ian Wilson collected 17 saves for Massena (1-0-2, 0-0-2).

GOUVERNEUR 0, SALMON RIVER 0 (OT)

Matt Waugh made nine first half saves for the Wildcats (0-2-1) before lightning called the Central Division game in Gouverneur.

The Shamrocks are 0-1-2.

MADRID-WADDINGTON 2, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 0

Two first half goals keyed the Yellow Jackets victory over the Flyers (0-2) in an East Division game in Madrid.

Kyle Pickering and James Hunt scored for Madrid-Waddington (2-2, 2-1) and T.J. Gagnon made nine saves.

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 3, ST. LAWRENCE 2

The Panthers (2-0) spotted St. Lawrence Central an early goal then roared back with a pair of first-half goals to hold a 2-1 lead at the half in an East Division game in Brushton.

Adam Martin’s unassisted goal in the 60th minute turned out to be the game-winner for the Panthers.

Loren Traynor scored both goals in the first half for Brushton-Moira.

St. Lawrence Central (0-3, 0-2) received goals from Ian Lynch and Lucas Arquiett.

COLTON-PIERREPONT 2, CHATEAUGAY 1

Andrew Holden scored with just over two minutes left in the game to lead Colton-Pierrepont (2-2, 2-1) past the Bulldogs in an East Division game in Chateaugay.

Alex Harcourt scored the only goal of the first half for the Colts and Tyler Martin tied the game for Chateaugay (0-2) four minutes into the second half.

MORRISTOWN 2, HERMON-DEKALB 1

The Green Rockets battled back from a 1-0 deficit to capture their second straight West Division win in a game against Hermon-DeKalb in Morristown

Macaulay Snell opened the scoring for the Demons (0-3, 0-2) in the 5th minute from Steve Gilbert. Dakota Marshall answered unassisted in the 18th to tie the score at 1-1.

Ryan Volmer converted from Marshall in the 45th for Morristown (2-0) before lightning came and the contest was called.

VOLLEYBALL

MALONE 3, GOUVERNEUR 0

Rachel Lamica scored 11 points to lead the Huskies to a 25-10, 25-2, 25-12 sweep of Gouverneur (1-2) in a match in malone. Lamica also had 10 kills for the Huskies (3-0) and Brooke Peck scored 10 service points.

CANTON 3, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 0

Tara Facey scored 17 points as Canton (1-2) swept the Panthers 25-21, 25-6, 25-21 in Brushton. Tanya Menke scored 12 points for the Panthers (0-2).

SALMON RIVER 3, MADRID-WADDINGTON 0

Nicole Smoke’s 31 points helped the Shamrocks to a 25-9, 25-11, 25-18 sweep of Madrid-Waddington (0-2) in Fort Covington. Jackie Benedict added 11 points for Salmon River (3-0).
