State Sen. Patty Ritchie will open a Watertown campaign office at a ceremony from noon to 1 p.m. Friday.
The office will open at the Key Bank building, 200 Washington St.
Mrs. Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, is a freshman legislator running in a district only slightly rejiggered from the one she represents now. It includes all of Oswego and Jefferson counties, plus 16 towns in St. Lawrence County: Canton, De Kalb, DePeyster, Edwards, Fowler, Gouvernor, Hammond, Hermon, Lisbon, Louisville, Macomb, Madrid, Morristown, Oswegatchie, Rossie and Waddington, and the city of Ogdensburg.
Mrs. Ritchie faces Democrat Amy Tresidder, an Oswego County legislator, in the Nov. 6 race. Mrs. Ritchie, like her fellow Republicans looking to maintain control of the state Senate, is winning the fundraising battle pretty handily.
