Starting with a workshop Monday, employers in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties may sign up for a free occupational health and safety training series that will cover 15 topics over the next eight months. Organized by the Jefferson County Industrial Development Agency, staff from CITEC Business Solutions, Potsdam, will teach the series.
To highlight safe housekeeping, the first workshop will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Charles H. Bohlen Technical Center, 20104 Route 3, Watertown.
Our intent is to make it easy for local businesses to obtain the training certifications they need to be compliant, said David J. Zembiec, the JCIDAs deputy CEO, in a statement.
The JCIDA received a grant from the state Department of Labors Occupational Safety and Health Training Education Program to host the series. Advance registration is required no later than Friday. To register, email your companys contact information and number of participants to wilson@citec.org or call organizer Ellie Newvine at 268-3778 ext. 21.
