Perhaps the biggest political story of the day right now is Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin's unfortunate remarks about "legitimate rape."
Supporters of Sen. Claire McCaskill, the Democratic incumbent, have tried to tie Rep. Akin to his fellow Republicans, regardless of a real connection. That won't happen here.
But I would be remiss not to note that there's a picture of Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, seemingly glowering at Mr. Akin at a congressional hearing in April.
The photo, from Facebook, was first spotted at CNN.
Mr. Owens favors abortion rights. His Nov. 6 opponent, Republican Matt Doheny, has also said that abortion should be legal in the first trimester, but has told anti-abortion advocates that he would have voted 100 percent in favor of their issues that came before Congress in the most recent session. A post I wrote recently was unclear — also known as "wrong" — on Mr. Doheny's position.
