SYRACUSE - Two Hogansburg residents have been indicted in connection with a marijuana distribution organization in Central New York, according to United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian.

He announced Thursday that Amos Conners, also known as Amos Connors, 41, and Melissa Brown, 42, both of Hogansburg, as well as Luman Paro, 51, of Syracuse, were arrested and indicted in connection with the marijuana distribution organization.

Mr. Hartunian said the three were indicted by a federal grand jury with conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute and distributing over 100 kilograms of marijuana.

If convicted, they face a mandatory five-year minimum term of imprisonment up to a maximum of 40 years imprisonment, up to a $5 million fine and at least four years of supervised release following any period of incarceration.

These prosecutions resulted from an investigation undertaken by the Syracuse Resident Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Central New York High Intensity Drug Trafficking AreaStrike Force and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The HIDTA Strike Force is comprised of agents, detectives and investigators from the DEA, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, the Syracuse Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, United States Customs and Border Protection and the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office.
