CARTHAGE — The village of Carthage and the town of Wilna will hold a public hearing to consider the annexation of properties in the village and town.

The meeting has been scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at the village offices, 120 S. Mechanic St.

Andrew Simser wants property along Route 3 he purchased during a Jefferson County tax sale removed from the village tax roll and listed as town property.

Village clerk Kristy L. O’Shaughnessy said the property is not accessible to village services.

The village and town boards have planned a special joint meeting following the public hearing.
