At least they can agree on something.

The same month that Matt Doheny was getting married in Alexandria Bay, Rep. Bill Owens, his Nov. 6 opponent, was celebrating 40 years of his own marriage.

Mr. Owens met Jane Norton while the two were students at Manhattan College. Mrs. Owens is now an executive at a local PBS station.

The photograph of Mr. and Mrs. Owens was posted on Mr. Owens' campaign Facebook account, which includes photographs of Mr. Owens in an Air Force uniform.

Mr. Owens has plenty going against him in this election — not least are the massive Republican voter registration advantage and the bad economy. But his personal biography is one of his top assets, and his campaign is using it to the best of their ability.
