Multiple sources tell me that Sean Hennessey, the Jefferson County Democratic Party chairman, will be tapped later this week to serve as the superintendent of the Dulles State Office Building.
The post, which is a governor's appointment, was opened in April when David Steyer was fired from the job.
The 11-story Dulles Building, on Washington Street, serves as the nexus of state government in Watertown and the north country. It houses state legislators and hundreds of state employees.
Mr. Hennessey, who is also the county Board of Elections commissioner, could not be reached to comment on Tuesday evening.
