A record was broken Sunday at the Norwood Village Green Concert Series when $2,755 was collected in the series traditional pass the bucket during a performance by the Gibson Brothers.
Joseph M. Liotta, president and founding program director of the series, said the previous record of $1,725 was established in 1987 when the Canadian country group Family Brown performed.
Anticipating a large audience turnout, a third bucket was purchased for the event and three zones were created, Mr. Liotta said.
He added that while the Gibson Brothers concert did break the pass the bucket record, it did not break the series attendance record. That honor still belongs to Family Brown with more than 4,500 people in attendance, he said. About 3,000 attended Sundays concert.
