Anna D. Burdick, 93, longtime Adams resident died Saturday afternoon July 21, 2012 in the Samaritan Keep Home where she had resided since 09/07/2010. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date in the Adams United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mona Fargo officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, NY.
She is survived by two sons and their wives Alan W. and Deborah, and Nelson G. and Sharon, all of Ellisburg; three grandchildren Nicholas, Renee and Ashley Burdick, a sister Agnes Smalley, Hilton, NY; a brother Charles M. Drake, Canandaigua; a sister in law Lucina Drake, Henderson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by four brothers, Lorenzo Drake, Louis Drake, George Drake and Ekard Drake and a sister in law, Pearl Drake.
Born January 8, 1919 in the Town of LeRay, daughter of Almond H. and Roxanna Cool Drake. A graduate of the former Evans Mills High School and In 1958 graduated from the Rochester School of Practical Nursing. She worked many years as a caregiver locally and retired in 1985.
Anna married Lewis C. Burdick July 28, 1957 at Tupper Lake and lived in Adams most of their married life. Mr. Burdick died February 7, 1991.
Anna was a longtime member of the Adams United Methodist Church serving in various capacities throughout the years, a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star Eudora Chapter 136, Belleville, and a former trumpet player in their local Boomer Band. Anna was also a member of the Vision Committee for the Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired of Jefferson County, Inc., and a volunteer driver for the Vision Committee.
