SYRACUSE — Syracuse University wide receiver Alec Lemon has been named to the 2012 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list.

The award is given to the most outstanding receiver in Division I college football each year. Lemon, a senior who caught a school-record 68 passes last season, is one of 49 players in the nation to make the list, including three from the Big East.

■ Syracuse defensive end Deon Goggins is one of 117 players from all levels of college football to be nominated for the 2012 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which honors a total of 22 players for contributions to their respective communities.

The teams are released by Allstate in late September.
