NORTH LAWRENCE - Upstate Niagara Cooperative will celebrate the opening of North Country Dairy at 1:30 p.m. today.

A subsidiary of Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc., North Country Dairy will produce all types of yogurt for national foodservice and retail partners.

Speaking on behalf of Upstate Niagara Cooperative is Lawrence C. Webster, CEO; Daniel J. Wolf, President and Chairman of the Board; and Matthew P. Davis, Plant Manager of North Country Dairy.

Expected guest speakers at the event include Darrel J. Aubertine, the commissioner of the New York State Department of Agriculture, who will also speak on behalf of Andrew M. Cuomo, governor of New York State; Judge Eugene L. Nicandri, trustee of the New York Power Authority; Gil C. Quiniones, president and CEO of the New York Power Authority; Ernest J. LaBaff, vice chairman of St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency; and John W. VanDeLoo, economic development program specialist of the Empire State Development Corporation.

North Country Dairy’s close proximity to dairy farms ensures the production of the freshest products on the market and maintains the co-op’s longtime commitment to quality. North Country Dairy has expansion plans that call for the manufacture of over 100 million pounds of yogurt and employment in excess of 100 associates.
