"A Watertown woman faces up to three years in state prison after admitting Tuesday in Jefferson County Court that she stabbed a woman in May.

Amber M. Come, 24, whose last known address was 227 Stone St., pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault. She also admitted violating probation by committing the new crime.

She admitted that on May 25 she tried to injure Christine A. Countryman by stabbing her with a kitchen knife at 116 Keyes Ave. Police said at the time that Ms. Countryman suffered three cuts.

At the time, Miss Come was serving five years’ probation imposed May 10 for an attempted third-degree robbery conviction, a felony, for trying to push a customer out of the way as she attempted to leave the Mercer’s convenience store in Adams with stolen property.

She is expected to be sentenced Aug. 21 as a second-felony offender to 1½ to 3 years in prison. She will be given a concurrent sentence on the probation violation.

In other court activity:

Gerald A. Woodard III, 16, of 16555 County Route 59, Dexter, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a hypodermic instrument and petit larceny. He admitted that on May 7 he gave prescription medicine to a 13-year-old boy without the boy having a prescription for it and that he possessed a hypodermic needle. The charges stemmed from a shoplifting investigation which resulted in Mr. Woodard also admitting that he stole shoes from Zumzies in the Salmon Run Mall. Sentencing was set for Sept. 18.

Michael L. Hamilton, 47, of 29311 County Route 69, Copenhagen, was sentenced to five years’ probation and ordered to pay $32,000 in restitution for a July 6 guilty plea to third-degree grand larceny.

He admitted that, sometime between Feb. 18 and Feb. 24, he stole money from a safe belonging to Richard Rapholz while staying at Mr. Rapholz’s town of Adams home.
