"ADAMS — Joseph S. Pelton, 39, of 31 S. Main St., Apt. E-144, was listed Tuesday in fair condition at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, with injuries he suffered Monday morning when the sedan he was driving slammed into another car and a deck at the Edge Teen Center, 35 Main St.

Mr. Pelton suffered head injuries and was incoherent at the accident scene, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Mr. Pelton was driving north on Route 11 in a car owned by Jody A. Mitchell, Adams Center, when about 8:25 a.m. he suddenly crossed the southbound lane and struck a parked car belonging to Julie A. Rice, Sandy Creek. He then struck the deck.

Mr. Pelton, who initially was treated at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, was cited with failure to keep right and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
