We're taking a break from our regularly scheduled shenanigans to bring you two personal notes from the campaign trail.

First, it's Matt Doheny's 42nd birthday today. Mr. Doheny, a Republican, is looking to defeat Democratic Rep. Bill Owens on Nov. 6.

Also, on the state races ledger, Democrat Amy Tresidder took a few days off from the campaign trail to welcome another grandchild. Mrs. Tresidder's daughter gave birth to Mason Michael Casbeer on Saturday.

A hearty happy birthday to Mr. Doheny and a congratulations to Mrs. Tresidder and her family.
