LOWVILLE Village police charged Nicholas M. Schafer, 23, Adams, with second-degree criminal impersonation and petit larceny after he allegedly pumped gasoline Monday at the Stewarts Shop here and did not pay for it.
The gasoline was pumped into a stolen pickup truck Mr. Schafer was driving. He told the Stewarts manager he forgot his wallet and would return to pay, after he falsely identified himself with a fake name, and never returned, according to village police.
He was arraigned Wednesday in Village Court and then turned over to state police on another warrant involving the theft of the truck.
