ELLISBURG — An Onondaga County man was injured Tuesday evening when his motorcycle struck a deer on Route 3 in the town of Ellisburg.

Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said James V. Zollo, 47, Camillus, was attempting to pass an uninvolved vehicle at about 7:30 p.m. when his motorcycle collided with the animal near South Landing Road, ejecting Mr. Zollo from the vehicle.

Mr. Zollo was airlifted to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, with what police described as possible internal injuries. No tickets were issued.
