MACOMB Ida Rose Hutton Bresett, 74, of Macomb, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at her home under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 10th from 6-8pm at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur and on Wednesday, July 11th from 11am-12pm at the Brasie Corners Presbyterian Church with the funeral service immediately following at 12:00. Burial will be at the Pleasant Lake Cemetery following the funeral service.
Ida was born on January 9, 1938 in Gouverneur to the late Edward and Ruth (Finley) Hutton of Macomb. She married Cyril Bresett on October 1, 1955 at the Brasie Corners Presbyterian Church.
Ida resided most of her life in Brasie Corners. She was active in the Macomb Grange, St. Lawrence County Grange, Macomb Historical Association and was a long time leader of the Macomb Sunshine 4-H Club. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener as well as an accomplished baker. Ida and Cyril were owners of C & I Sport Shop. She also served as the Macomb Town Clerk for several years.
Ida is survived by her husband of 56 years, Cyril Bresett Sr. of Macomb; three sons and their wives, Cyril Jr. and Ardyce of Granville, NY, Kevin and Aimee of Macomb and Greg and Jackie of Brushton, NY; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Denise and Doug Komm of Sanford, FL, Debbie Konecni of California, Amy and Kirk Palozzi of Spencerport, NY and Michelle Bresett of Macomb; 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
She is predeceased by a brother Edward G. Hutton, who passed away in 2002.
