Festival co-chairman Kenneth G. Cole said that proceeds from the sales will be used to help pay for the July 21-29 event.
The buttons are $2 each and we are hoping to make $20,000 to help cover our $70,000 budget, he said.
Sale locations for Friday and Saturday are: Price Chopper, Gateway Plaza, Ford Street Extension; Wal-Mart, 3000 Ford St. Extension; Nice and Easy stores at 301 Champlain St., and 1117 New York Ave.; Kinney Drugs, 700 Canton St.; Save-A-Lot, Seaway Shopping Center, Canton Street; St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, 333 State St., and Commerce Park; Community Bank NA, 320 Ford St., and 825 State St.; St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center entrance; and the Ogdensburg and Riverview correctional facility entrances.
Wal-Mart is the sole Sunday sales location.
Buttons will also be sold along Washington Street from Isabella to Caroline street, at all festival events, during the July 28 parade along Ford Street and Fort La Presentation activities on the same day.
