LOWVILLE — A Beaver Falls man was entered into the Lewis County Drug Court program last week after admitting to forging a prescription.

Joseph M. Nolan, 22, of 8933 Artz Road, was arraigned June 27 in Lewis County Court on a charge of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and pleaded guilty to the charge. He then signed a Drug Court contract.

Mr. Nolan was accused of, on May 4 in the village of Lowville, possessing a prescription for Percocet containing an altered quantity.

Also in Lewis County Court on June 27:

James H. Villiere, 68, of 7990 Penny Settlement Road, Port Leyden, was arraigned on a single count of second-degree criminal sex act and two counts apiece of second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person and pleaded innocent. His case was adjourned to Aug. 10.

Mr. Villiere was accused of having sexual contact with two developmentally disabled males in the town of Greig, one between January and June 2010 and the other in April 2011.

Charles B. Sterling, 37, of 781 Witzigman Road, West Leyden, was arraigned on charges of second-degree strangulation, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief and pleaded innocent. His case was adjourned to Aug. 10.

Mr. Sterling was accused of, on May 26, choking and punching Jamie Swinney and damaging her cellphone.

Robert R. Austin, 21, Greene Correctional Facility, Coxsackie, was indicted on charges of third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. He is to be arraigned on the charges July 20.

Mr. Austin was accused of, on May 1, 2010, breaking into Creekside Market in Barnes Corners, damaging a door and cash register and stealing an unspecified amount of cash and cigarettes.

Since August 2010, he has been serving a six- to 17-year sentence in state prison on three counts of third-degree burglary from Oswego County Court.
