The following people face driving while intoxicated and associated charges:
■ Diane M. Carpinello, 50, North Adams, Mass., was charged by state police with aggravated DWI at 3 p.m. Wednesday on Route 12 in Alexandria Bay. Police said they received numerous calls about an erratic driver and Ms. Carpinello was located on Route 12 near Church Street, where she allegedly was observed driving across hazard markings and with no taillamps, for which she also was cited. Police said her blood alcohol content was 0.22 percent, which is above the states minimum legal level of 0.18 percent to warrant an aggravated DWI charge. A BAC of 0.08 percent or above is considered proof of intoxication under state law. She is due to answer the charges in Village Court.
■ Jason E. Evans, 33, Castorland, was charged with felony DWI by Lewis County sheriffs deputies about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday on Cataract Street in Copenhagen. Police said his vehicle was halted for traveling at 53 mph in a 30 mph zone. They said his BAC was found to be 0.10 percent. He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, speeding, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and having inadequate brake lights. He is to answer the charges in Denmark Town Court.
■ Jacob M. Knowlton, 31, of 319 Brainard St., was charged by state police about 8:30 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 81 in the town of Orleans. Police said his motorcycle was stopped for an inadequate exhaust and because he was wearing an illegal helmet. His BAC was alleged to be 0.10 percent. He also was charged with operating with an illegal helmet and exhaust, operating without insurance and operating with an improperly displayed license plate. He is due to answer the charges in Orleans Town Court.
■ Warren M. Kring, 39, Alexandria Bay, was charged by state police at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday on Route 12 in the town of Alexandria. He was also cited with consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and refusal to submit to a breath test for the presence of alcohol. He is to answer the charge in Alexandria Town Court.
■ Richard R. Merrihew, 49, Redwood, was charged by state police at 11:50 p.m. on Route 12 in the town of Alexandria. He also was charged with consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and having an uninspected vehicle. He is to answer the charges in Alexandria Town Court.
■ Duane A. Cassoni, 45, Black River, was charged by state police at 6 p.m. Sunday on Route 3A in the town of Wilna and is due to appear in Wilna Town Court.
Charged with driving while ability is impaired by drugs:
■ Dawn M. Derocher, 49, of 12574 Route 12E, Chaumont, was charged by state police at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday on Route 12 in the town of Clayton. Police said her vehicle was halted after they received a report of an erratic operator. Police said they found the vehicle parked and running on the side of the road. A subsequent investigation resulted in an allegation that she was operating under the influence of a prescription medication. She is due to answer the charges in Clayton Town Court.
