HERMON A Gouverneur man was arrested at 1 p.m. Monday for allegedly selling an engine, then stealing the profits in late May.
John L. Murdie, 25, of 423 Emeryville Road, was charged by state police with petit larceny.
Mr. Murdie allegedly was hired to sell a car engine, then never delivered the $466 for he received for it to the engines owner, troopers said. The incident was first reported to police May 29.
