POTSDAM — Private funeral services for 98-year-old Mrs. Winifred Bicknell of Potsdam will be held at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2012 with Rev. Thomas Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Parishville. Mrs. Bicknell died June 29, 2012 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital.

Surviving Winifred are two daughters Mrs. Vernon (Betty) Lundin of Dunkirk, NY; and Mrs. George (Mary Lou) Davey of Black River, NY, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Frank and her daughter Barbara Bicknell.

Winifred was born April 16, 1914 in Potsdam, NY, daughter of Minnie and Fred Kelly. She married Frank H. Bicknell on June 30, 1931 in Potsdam.

Mrs. and Mrs. Bicknell owned and operated Potsdam Trucking Company. They also operated a Christmas Tree farm.

Winifred was a member of the Potsdam First Presbyterian Church for 62 years. She was also a member of the Hilltoppers Senior Citizens Club of Parishville.

She enjoyed dancing, gardening and watching deer in her yard.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
