■ DEFERIET — The annual village picnic is set for 5:30 p.m. July 27 at the park on Riverside Drive. All village residents are welcome.

■ CANTON — The state Department of Transportation will pave Route 310 by the CSX rail crossing beginning Thursday. Work could be completed by Saturday. Motorists should expect minor delays.

■ HENDERSON HARBOR — Flares will be sold for the harbor’s ring of lights event set for 10 p.m. Saturday. Flares may be bought for $2.50 each at the town fire hall from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. There also will be door-to-door sales Wednesday to Saturday.
