MASSENA - A two-vehicle accident at state Routes 37 and 37C caused multiple injuries at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A sport utility vehicle driven by Marilyn A. Clement, 52, of Massena failed to yield the right of way as it crossed Route 37 from state Route 37C, state police said.
Clement struck a vehicle traveling eastbound on Route 37 driven by Julie Cote, 45, of Orleans, Ont..
Clement and a 12-year-old passenger were transported to Massena Memorial Hospital with complaints of neck pain. Clement also complained of pain in her right collar bone.
The SUV involved was lying in a grassy ditch in the middle of the four-lane Route 37 after the accident. The other car had front-end damage and was turned the wrong way on the road.
State police ticketed Clement for failing to yield the right of way.
Cote was treated on scene for a minor laceration to her right foot and released.
A helicopter was initially requested but was later called off.
