State Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, has endorsed Manhattan attorney Wendy Long in tomorrow's GOP primary.

Ms. Long is running against Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos and Rep. Bob Turner of New York City to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in November.

Mrs. Ritchie, a freshman legislator, described as "phony" the "war on women."

"This primary is critical, Wendy is the only candidate that can take Gillibrand on without all the distractions of the so called phony war on women," Mrs. Ritchie said in a news release. "I' m proud to support her candidacy and I encourage all New York Republicans to vote for her in the primary this Tuesday."
